Where can I learn more about paddling on the Missouri River?

First, check out our guide to paddling the Missouri River for useful information and paddling tips. There are also a number of other great resources for Missouri River Information. One of the best is the Lewis and Clark Water Trail Page. Another great place to go to hear from the folks who REALLY paddle on the River is River Miles. This is the home base for the MO 340 and the Nitty Gritty Fifty. There are links to numerous resources and the discussion boards are a font of knowledge and good humored rivalry. You can get a mile by mile description of the river from the Missouri Canoe and Floaters Association.

Where can I watch the racers?

There are several good viewing spots along the course of the race. The Klondike Park Boat ramp, the Weldon Spring Boat Ramp and the Page Avenue Extension all have direct views of the river and safe places to stand and watch. Remember the racers will have a flying finish at Frontier Park in St Charles so you can watch them from the festival as well.

What does the Festival have to do with Race?

The festival will be a chance for you to relax, listen to some great music and talk to other racers and to people interested in paddle sports. There will be a comfort station with shade and chairs and booths and displays from all sorts of folks who are interested iin supporting clean water. It will be a great place for your family and ground crew to hang out and await your arrival. The Awards Ceremony for the Clean Water Challenge will be there as well as the leader board for the Race for the Rivers
