Kayaking Missouri waterways for a good cause
The Greenway Network, a non-profit volunteer organization concerned with keeping Missouri Rivers healthy, is set to re-stage their successful Missouri River canoe and kayak racing event on August 23 & 24. Race For the Rivers 2008 features three separate events, including a marathon kayak race and a beginner paddling competition. Two separate Missouri River racing events ensure that everyone from canoeing and kayaking beginners to marathon ready river paddlers can get in on the fun.
Race For the Rivers - A Marathon Kayak Race for Experienced Paddlers
Sixty five miles of intense competition make this a marathon kayak race to remember! By canoe or kayak, paddlers will make their way from Washington, Missouri to the Confluence, pausing to enjoy the Race For the Rivers Festival at the end of day one.
Clean Water Challenge - An Adventure Race for Kayaking and Canoeing Beginners
If you're fairly new to kayaking Missouri waterways, this race for canoeing and kayaking beginners is for you. This beginner adventure racing event is 20 miles long from start to finish, and includes various extra tasks for racers to complete along the way.
Race For the Rivers Festival
As headquarters for both canoe and kayak racing events, paddlers from the adventure and marathon races will converge here to enjoy live music and other various activities.
Considering making a hobby out of kayaking Missouri waterways? Take advantage of this opportunity to meet the racers, and see what it really takes to compete in adventure and marathon kayak racing.
