Race For the Rivers - Missouri River Canoe & Kayak Racing

Attention canoeing enthusiasts! The Greenway Network is re-staging their successful Missouri River canoe and kayak racing event on August 23 & 24. With clean water preservation, restoration and recreation as the focus, three separate events have been designed to satisfy everyone from the canoeing beginner to the Missouri River racing enthusiast.

Which race is right for you?

If it's more likely that your canoe will tip than it is for you to give canoeing tips, then the Clean Water Challenge is for you! This 20 mile canoeing and kayaking race is for adventure racing beginners. On the way to the finish, paddlers will complete various tasks, including water quality monitoring.

The Race For the Rivers is a 65 mile, two-day event meant for Missouri River canoeing and kayaking experts. This marathon canoe race begins in Washington, and concludes at the Confluence just north of downtown St. Louis.
