Race For the Rivers 2008 in historic St. Charles MO

Get ready for a St. Charles event to remember! The Greenway network is bringing their successful Missouri River paddling event back to St. Charles MO on August 23 & 24. Race For the Rivers 2008 will feature three separate events for canoeing enthusiasts with clean water education, restoration and recreation as the focus.

Canoeing the Missouri River has never been so much fun!

The Clean Water Challenge is designed for canoeing and kayaking enthusiasts eager to learn more about preservation of Missouri waterways. This Missouri adventure racing event begins in Weldon Spring, MO and concludes 20 miles downriver at Frontier Park in St. Charles MO. As they're canoeing the Missouri River, racers will complete a variety of extra tasks, including water quality monitoring.

For experienced canoeing aficionados, the Race For the Rivers offers a greater challenge. This two-day, competitive event takes canoeing the Missouri River to a whole new level. Spanning 65 miles from start to finish, this Saint Charles canoe race begins in Washington, MO and concludes at the Confluence of the Missouri River and Mississippi River just north of downtown St. Louis, MO. Paddlers end day one of this marathon kayak race at the Race For the Rivers Festival on the St. Charles riverfront.
