Race For the Rivers photo grid

The festival is back for 2021! We are on hold in terms of what it will look like this year, but we will provide more information when it becomes available.

The annual Race for the Rivers event is an opportunity for the non-profit Greenway Network to raise funds for river clean-up efforts, educate festival-goers about the importance of river conservation, and get help from volunteers like you!

With a full day of races, food, music, and activities, we need quite a few volunteers to make it all happen. We ask volunteers to devote at least 2 hours to a station, but feel free to do more than one shift or more than one station!

If you’d like to volunteer during the festival, here are a few areas where we could use a little help:

  • Tear down from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM
  • Gate guards to do 1-hour shifts on a gate making sure alcohol doesn't cross the fence
  • Children’s play area (great for families since you can use it as a "base" and the kids can play or participate
  • Shore Crew to help paddlers out of the water and get their boats up the hill
  • Water Stop Crew for the bike riders
  • SAG support for the bike ride

To volunteer, please complete either the student volunteer form or the 21+ volunteer form, or you can email us at greenwaynetwork@gmail.com or call at 636-498-0772.

And if you could lend any of the following items for use during the festival, Greenway Network would greatly appreciate it:

  • 1 canoe or kayak that can be used in the children’s area to give them a feel for paddle sports
  • Support boat (to be used as a backup boat)
  • Golf cart storage near Frontier Park
  • 10x10 or 10x20 pop-up tents

If you are able to provide any of these items, please contact us at greenwaynetwork@gmail.com or 636-498-0772.
